Making my Broadway debut alongside this incredible cast has truly fulfilled a lifelong dream.” She continues, “As I prepared for both the red carpet and the performance, it felt surreal to be embarking on this journey that I’ve always envisioned.”

The Wiz Returns to Broadway: Nichelle Lewis Shines as Star.
This Broadway revival of The Wiz marks its triumphant return nearly half a century after its original 1975 debut. Helmed by director Schele Williams and backed by Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker, this reimagined production promises a fresh take on the beloved classic.
Wayne Brady takes on the titular role, while Deborah Cox dazzles as Glinda, and Melody A. Betts captivates in the dual roles of Aunt Em and Evillene. Following a successful 13-city national tour, The Wiz graces Broadway once more after four decades, drawing inspiration from L. Frank Baum’s timeless tale, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Celebrating her milestone, Lewis shares on Instagram, “I made my BROADWAY DEBUT. What?!? I still can’t believe it. I am so proud of us all. God is good.”
